Do I need a passport or can I travel with an ID card?

Yes, a valid passport is required for entry into Vietnam and Cambodia. According to regulations, your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Is there onboard entertainment?

Yes, we offer a variety of daily entertainment activities, including fruit carving classes, local cooking classes, and cultural talks with our guides about the history and traditions of Cambodia and Vietnam. In the evenings, you can enjoy documentaries about the regions we visit, enriching your journey. Additionally, we have a spa and gym available for your relaxation and wellness needs.

Is there a luggage restriction on your cruises?

There is no limit on the amount of luggage you can bring on board. However, to ensure a spacious and comfortable cabin, we recommend bringing a moderate amount of luggage. Our staff is always available to assist you with your belongings if needed.

What is the time difference with Southeast Asia?

Vietnam and Cambodia are both in the Indochina Time (ICT, UTC+7) zone and do not observe daylight saving time. Here are some time differences compared to major cities around the world:
    • London (UK, GMT/UTC+0): 7 hours ahead (or 6 hours during UK daylight saving time).
    • New York (US, EST/UTC-5): 12 hours ahead (or 11 hours during US daylight saving time).
    • Toronto (Canada, EST/UTC-5): 12 hours ahead (or 11 hours during daylight saving time).
    • Los Angeles (US, PST/UTC-8): 15 hours ahead (or 14 hours during daylight saving time).
    • Sydney (Australia, AEST/UTC+10): 3 hours behind (or 4 hours during Australian daylight saving time).
    • Auckland (New Zealand, NZT/UTC+12): 5 hours behind (or 6 hours during New Zealand daylight saving time).

Do I need to get any vaccines prior to my trip to Southeast Asia?

We recommend consulting your doctor or local health center about any necessary vaccinations before traveling to Southeast Asia. Depending on your itinerary and length of stay, some travelers may be advised to get vaccinations for hepatitis A, typhoid, or malaria prevention.

Are there any foods that I should avoid during my cruise (on- & off-shore)?

To ensure you have a safe travel with us, we would like to recommend you to just try our onboard food, the food outside the cruise is not in our control and we would not recommend it.

In case of emergency – what first aid is available onboard?

The first aid kit is always available onboard and during your excursion with us. We have a box of basic first aid kit.

What should I wear during on-shore excursions?

Vietnam and Cambodia have a tropical climate, so we recommend wearing light, breathable clothing that absorbs sweat for comfort while exploring. A light jacket can help protect against the sun, and comfortable sneakers are ideal for walking. Additionally, bringing a pair of sandals is useful in case of rain or wet conditions.

Is it safe on the ship when mooring or docking?

Yes, the ship remains safe at all times, including during mooring and docking. A sailor is always on duty, even at night, to ensure security and safety. Additionally, Mekong Princess is equipped with a Mooring system that meets international safety standards for a secure and stable docking experience.

What about my valuable items on board?

Each suite is equipped with a personal safe that only you can access, allowing you to securely store your valuables. Additionally, with a limited number of guests and a team of professionally trained staff and sailors, we maintain a high level of security throughout the cruise.

Will I encounter sea sickness?

The Mekong River is a calm and slow-moving waterway, unlike the open sea. As a result, our guests rarely experience motion sickness while onboard. Additionally, the ship’s SOLAS-certified design ensures a smooth and stable journey for your comfort. However, we also provide motion sickness medicine upon your request.

Is the ship safe?

Safety is our number one priority at all times. We comply with international safety standards by design and construction and conduct regular safety training programs. As a SOLAS-certified cruise vessel (the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea), Mekong Princess is equipped with state-of-the-art safety features to ensure a secure and comfortable journey.

What is the difference between the upstream and downsteam cruises?

The main difference between upstream and downstream cruises is the direction of travel and the embarkation/disembarkation points. An upstream cruise starts in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and ends in Siem Reap, Cambodia. A downstream cruise follows the opposite route, beginning in Siem Reap and concluding in Ho Chi Minh City. Aside from the direction, both itineraries offer a similar experience.

What is the difference between high water and low water cruises on Mekong Delta?

We apply the same itinerary for both high water and low water level, the only difference is the scence in the river bank.

Are there extra fees for solo travelers?

Our rate is per person and have different rate for single/ double occupancy. Solo Traveller will pay about extra 30% compare to the rate per person of double occupancy.

How many guests are on board?

Our cruise can accommodate for maximum 30 guests including adults and children

What is not included in the cruise fare?

Airfare, visas, premium beverages, spa treatments, and personal expenses are not included. See the full list at Inclusion & Exclusion

Are transfers to and from the ship included?

Yes, we provide complimentary transfers for both upstream and downstream cruises:
Upstream Cruise (Ho Chi Minh City → Siem Reap):
    • Transfer from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon Port (embarkation point).
    • Transfer from Kampong Cham Port (disembarkation point) to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Downstream Cruise (Siem Reap → Ho Chi Minh City):
    • Transfer from your hotel in Siem Reap to Kampong Cham Port (embarkation point).
    • Transfer from Saigon Port (disembarkation point) to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
